Few have had the opportunity to have experienced what 12 yr old Elizabeth did Christmas 2003 when she went out to do her chores and found the horse of her dreams in the last stall in the barn. It's not often as a parent that we have the opportunity to make one of our children's dreams come true in such a memorable way, either. Our Profound thanks go to Kelly Hanley for introducing us to Versace, Barbara Bailey for the glowing reference, Tammi Jay and Richard Bolin for selling Versace to us, God in his perfect timing for making things work out just the way they needed to make it possible for us to purchase Versace, Tammi Jay both for the lessons Elizabeth will be taking from her to learn to ride English Pleasure correctly and the guidance in showing him I know she will provide, and to Lori McClintock and her staff for making room in their barn for him the week before Christmas so we could surprise Elizabeth on Christmas morning.

Versace is a character! He's always the first to welcome you when you come in to the barn, and seems to look so forward to any attention he can possibly get from a passerby. Our favorite thing to do is surprise people by asking him to stick out his tongue which he loves to have rubbed. You can't put anything past this guy... his mind is always going a mile a minute, and he's always looking for a game to play. At his heighth, he could really make life difficult for us, but not Versace. When he sees a halter or bridle, he nicely lowers his head so you can take care of whatever business you might have for him. He's a bit tall for the trailer tho, having to lower his head for this as well, and he's not nearly so welcoming with this task! (I guess it's time to raise the roof!) He and Elizabeth have a lot to learn about each other, but this is definitely a love match and I forsee a beautiful future together! We will try to update this page often.......
